Riding Lessons & Polo

Learn to Ride with Everything Altitude

Tuition

Learning to ride takes time, but oh is so worth it!

Here at Everything Altitude, we take pride in getting you feeling safe, comfortable, and in harmonic control with your horse. We teach you to be the "driver," not the "passenger," where you are sympathetically the leader of a cross-species partnership.

We teach children from an early age, and encourage a regular commitment and as much immersion as possible in all aspects of horse-riding and horse care. With children, the priority is in keeping them safe as they grow their confidence and understanding of the partnership they have with their horse. The time on horseback is balanced by plenty of time in practical activities, caring for and readying the horse for riding.

For adults, the approach is tailored to the individual experience. The emphasis is on helping the rider truly feel safe through developing a secure seat on board these wonderful but powerful equines. Once you are safe and confident in the first three "gears", you are ready to make the most of all that horse-riding in Laikipia has to offer - including the joy and thrill of horseback safari!

For the more experienced rider interested in the thrilling sport of Polo, there is no better instructor than Everything Altitude's John Mugambi - an extremely talented Polo instructor with decades of experience. Wizzy loves to teach the experienced rider the more advanced skills of jumping and more detailed flatwork.

Pony Mad Mornings and Camps

For the young rider living nearby, we offer "Pony Mad Mornings" and occasional overnight camps during school holidays. Usually, these are driven by an initial request, and we then build on it by finding a few more interested to join.

Pony Mad Mornings and Camps
Privilege Riders and Fast Track

Fast Track

Twelve lessons on our unique FastTrack programme can get an able-bodied, fit person to an intermediate level. At this level, with our help and guidance, and with our focused depth of training, you will be ready to experience our mountain and our wildlife from the back of a horse - no small feat! Again, this combines technique with a developing understanding of the synergetic relationship between horse and rider - these are a prerequisite for the ultimate adventure of getting up close to the extraordinary predators of our habitat.

Privileged Riders

For anyone staying with us for a month or more, or living locally, please also consider our "Privileged riders" offer - this is a generous membership of the stables.
